Chapter Three: The Traveller Collection

My husband’s been by my side through every creative step I’ve taken — quietly supporting, always encouraging. I could see it in him — that itch to create something of his own. So I said, “Go on then, give it a go.”

That’s how the Traveller Collection came to life.

It was inspired by a Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that we hold close to our hearts:

“Be in this world like a stranger or a traveller along a path.”

That Hadith is one we often reflect on. It grounds us, especially when life starts reminding us — as it often does — how temporary everything really is. The ebb and flow of it all. That sense of movement. Transition. Travel — both physical and spiritual.

We wanted to make something that honoured that journey. A leather cover designed with the traveller in mind — proper practical, but still beautiful. A large back pocket to tuck away receipts or notes, inner secretarial flaps for passports and boarding passes, and of course, the elastic binding to carry one signature safely inside.

That signature? A Hajj Journal.

BEHIND THE SCENES

And for that, we had the absolute honour of collaborating with designer and author Emma Apple. She brought the Hajj rites section to life with her hand-drawn ink illustrations — each one carefully crafted, deeply thoughtful. Her work really lifted the journal, adding a sense of reverence and beauty that words alone couldn’t carry.

We launched this collection just in time for Hajj 2017. Each Traveller came with a limited edition, handmade wood and copper tasbih (prayer beads) — a quiet finishing touch to honour the spiritual journey this collection was built around.

This one meant a lot. It still does.
