ABOUT

Welcome, dear

Muslim by Allah SWT’s mercy, Turkish by heritage, and creative catalyst by design.

Since launching Stori Dori in 2015, I’ve been on a journey of deep self-discovery. One that’s taken me through creativity, community, recovery, and faith. But in recent times, that journey has taken on even more meaning. Like many, I’ve been reflecting on what kind of world we’re living in and what kind of legacy I’m contributing to.

We’re living through a time of immense grief, injustice, and spiritual reckoning. It’s not just “out there” — it touches all of us. Oppression, war, displacement, dehumanisation. These aren’t abstract issues. They weigh on the soul. And yet, even in the darkest moments, there are those who still choose to stand for truth, beauty, and righteousness.

That’s where I try to place myself. In the pursuit of what is just. In the preservation, protection, and promise of human dignity.

The thread that runs through everything.

That value — dignity — is the thread that runs through all my work. Whether I’m making journals, hosting creative gatherings, building a company, or sharing my story, I do it with the hope that someone, somewhere, might remember their worth, reconnect with their voice, and feel a little less alone.

Stori Dori started as a creative project. A way for me to reclaim space in a life that often felt like it belonged to everyone but me. It became something more. A practice of self-expression through journaling, spiritual reflection, and healing by His grace. Over the years it’s grown into a community, a refuge, and a call to others to honour their own story too.

What I believe and who this site is for

Compassion, curiosity, and courage — that’s how I try to meet life, and the people in it. I believe in the power of finding your voice and using it. I believe in the dignity of ordinary lives. I believe in documenting what matters, so we don’t forget who we are.

If you’re here reading this, welcome. You’re not too late, too broken, or too much. You’re exactly on time.

This space is for those who are walking their own path, however messy or uncertain. For those who are ready to meet themselves honestly. To tell the truth — not for applause or validation, but for the sake of maintaining dignity throughout life.

So wherever you are on your journey, I hope this space offers something steady, something honest, and something quietly powerful.

My Work

TIWICO is the company I co-founded with my husband. Together we’re building a cross-pollination of our individual skills and disciplines, united under one roof.

Within TIWICO, I work with Muslim women founders who are ready to expand into their own platforms — whether that’s building a digital presence, developing their brand, or simply having an honest conversation about what’s possible.

If you’re a Muslim woman founder and something here resonates, I’d love to hear from you.

Find me elsewhere.

I’m not everywhere. But I am in a few places, intentionally.

Each one holds something different. Find the one that fits where you are today.

This is where I journal out loud. Creative practice, process, the unglamorous middle of becoming something.

@nilly

My camera roll, more or less. The small things. The light through a window. A page I loved. The ordinary moments I want to remember, bi’dhnillah.

Where the podcast lives. Longer conversations, slower thinking. Come here when you have your tea made and your phone face down.

@water.nilly

Where I read, respond, and think in public. I follow the conversations happening around faith, womanhood, and the world. If something moves me, I say so. Come find me there if you want to talk.

Live it well.
