Craft Buffet

Between 2017 and the quiet closing of Stori Dori, I ran something called Craft Buffet — a mobile creative event for women who just needed a bit of space to play.

It was simple, really. I’d turn up with a suitcase full of journaling bits, ephemera, art supplies and stationery — and we’d spend a few hours making. No pressure, no right or wrong. Just a room full of curious, open-hearted women, exploring whatever felt good that day — from collaging and card-making to journaling with paint, scissors and scraps.

Craft Buffet popped up all over London — in cafés, people’s homes, the Barbican, and even once on a road trip to the beach. I remember pulling into a motorway service station and setting up a 15-minute ‘press play and craft buffet’ on a table for a friend who needed cheering up. That kind of spontaneous creativity? That was the heartbeat of it.

It was never a polished, branded thing. It was personal. It sat alongside Stori Dori like a sidekick — a way to meet people, sell my handmade journals, and remind us all that creativity doesn’t have to be serious to be powerful.

CRAFT BUFFET SLIDES

What it became was something more: a space where stories were shared, friendships quietly bloomed, and women gave themselves permission to play again. It was loose, warm, and full of heart.

Craft Buffet is no longer running — but the joy and connection it sparked still ripple through everything I do.
